สื่อสเปน เผย ไนกี้ ทุ่มเงินปีละ 288 ล้านบาท เพื่อดึง คริสเตียโน โรนัลโด ปีกขี้เก๊กของ เรอัล มาดริด ให้ต่อสัญญาเป็นพรีเซ็นเตอร์ไปถึงปี 2014
"มาร์กา" หนังสือพิมพ์กีฬาในประเทศสเปน เผยว่า ไนกี้ บริษัทผลิตอุปกรณ์กีฬายักษ์ใหญ่ ตกลงทุ่มเงิน 6 ล้านยูโร(ประมาณ 288 ล้านบาท) ต่อปี เพื่อมัดใจ คริสเตียโน โรนัลโด ดาวเตะซูเปอร์สตาร์ เรอัล มาดริด ต่อสัญญารับการสนับสนุนจากบริษัทไปจนถึงปี 2014 จากสัญญาฉบับใหม่นี้ ส่งผลให้ โรนัลโด กลายเป็นนักฟุตบอล ที่มีรายได้จากการให้การสนับสนุนของ ไนกี้ มากที่สุดทันที
อย่างไรก็ตาม ดาวเตะ "ราชันชุดขาว" จะยังคงมีรายได้จากส่วนนี้ น้อยกว่านักกีฬาประเภทอื่นๆ อาทิ โคบี ไบรอัน ยอดนักยัดห่วงชื่อดังของ ลอสแอนเจลิส เลเกอรส์ ที่รับอยู่ปีละ 7.5 ล้านยูโร (ราว 360 ล้านบาท) และ เลบรอน เจมส์ ยอดการ์ด ของ คลีฟแลนด์ คาวาเลียร์ส ที่ฟันเงินเข้ากระเป๋าถึงปีละ 9 ล้านยูโร (ราว 432 ล้านบาท) อยู่ดี
